I am a fully qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor holding a Diploma in Transactional Analysis Counselling (TA).
I obtained the title "Psychotherapeutic" because my core training has been at a Psychotherapy college where the demands on students are higher than a standard counselling diploma, working in depth with clients to understand why they think, feel, and behave in certain ways, and in turn giving them the ability to make positive change.
I have obtained hundreds of client hours of face-to-face and online therapy, having worked with clients from multiple cultural backgrounds and with a wide range of presenting issues.
My approach to therapy is what can be described as relational, which means I put an emphasis on the relationship between myself and my client as one of great importance. In this way we can build a trusting, safe and confidential therapeutic relationship. Research shows that this is of key importance to successful therapy.
I regularly undertake continual professional development (CPD) and I strive to ensure my practice is up to date with the latest research, meaning I can offer my clients the best possible service.
In my private practice, I am seeing more men seeking therapy as well as clients presenting with anxiety and relationship issues.
I work to the ethical framework of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS).
